The University of Alabama in Huntsville and the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean (CATHALAC) offer an eight week research program and study abroad program focusing on environmental issues related to Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Through this unique educational program, now in its third year, participants will receive professional training, hands-on learning, and experience in how climate change influences sustainable development. While in Panama, students will conduct supervised research projects, learn Spanish, explore Panama and live with host families.
Program Dates: June 3 - July 28, 2012
Academic requirements: Applicants must have successfully completed at least two semesters of undergraduate work. Basic Spanish proficiency is a plus, but NOT required.
Course Credits: Students enroll through UAHuntsville and receive six undergraduate credits that can be transferred to their home institution.
