NYU Haitian American Student Association x REBUILD Globally Sandal Drive

Here's a brief description of REBUILD:

Restoring Environments By Utilizing Innovative Local Development, or R.E.B.U.I.L.D. Globally, is an NGO in Haiti started by Julie Columbino, an American volunteer, who envisioned a new approach to relief work after the earthquake of 2010. As charity organizations quickly ran out of supplies to give out to the displaced earthquake victims, it was apparent that Haitians were in as much need after the charitable efforts as they were immediately after the quake. With such large scale devastation,the handouts of food, water, and other supplies could only last for so long. What was needed was sustainable relief and Columbino believed that the best way to aide Haitians was to help them help themselves.

Rebuild Globally is a pathway out of poverty for Haiti's most vulnerable.

Why NYU HASA has teamed up with them:

An NYU Alumna and dedicated HASA member, Sandra Fernandez, is currently volunteering with REBUILD globally in Haiti. Her passion, along with the incredible mission of REBUILD Globally, has inspired NYU HASA to spread the word to the greater NYU community. Through this special collaboration, REBUILD has lowered the price of their sandals and agreed to donate an equivalent pair to someone in Haiti with no shoes. This partnership will only last until March 21st, the last day you can purchase the discounted sandals.

How to purchase:

Send an email with your name, email address, size of sandal, style of sandal, and color to gp801@nyu.edu. She will then relay that information to Sandra Fernandez in Haiti who will then send you an email link to the paypal account so that you can purchase your sandals.
