AKAM is an organization made up of all 1.5 or 2nd generation Korean American physicians who graduated from a US medical school. AKAM believes that Korean students face different pressures when applying to medical school than other minorities and has been holding an annual seminar for the past five years to provide real world advice for students that are interested.
One surprising fact I discovered was the sheer volume of boarding schools throughout the United States.
