Internship Opportunities
Mount Sinai's Summer Research Internship 
Aid in Mount Sinai’s Department of Health Evidence and Policy’s clinical research project in East Harlem, New York. This study observes the impact of peer-lead educational sessions on overweight teens (ages 14-18) with pre-diabetes. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but senior undergrads are welcomed.

The goal of the Bronx-Westchester (BW) and Manhattan- Staten Island (MSI) Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is to improve the health and health outcomes amongst underserved populations in Manhattan, Staten Island, the Bronx, and Westchester. BW-AHEC offers a six-week PAID summer internship for high school juniors, seniors, and college students interested in the medical field. Students are paired with health professionals at various health facilities in the Bronx and Westchester, and are exposed to health issues pertinent to their communities. Health Careers Internship Program (HCIP)
The goal of the Bronx-Westchester (BW) and Manhattan- Staten Island (MSI) Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is to improve the health and health outcomes amongst underserved populations in Manhattan, Staten Island, the Bronx, and Westchester. AHEC offers a summer internship for college juniors and seniors interested in the medical field, allowing them the opportunity to work in a health care setting and interact regularly with health professionals.

STEP UP in Health-Related Research
Applications are now available for Temple University School of Medicine Undergraduate Summer Research Program (June 11 - July 31, 2012): The Short Term Education Program for Undergraduate and Pre-doctoral students (STEP UP). STEP UP in Health-related Research is designed to offer research training to academically qualify underrepresented students in the areas of Hematology, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research.

Montefiore’s Health Opportunities Program
Monte H.O.P. is a PAID summer enrichment program for economically or educationally disadvantaged students from underrepresented populations. Students will gain healthcare experience and professional skills through interactive workshops, mentorship by health professionals, observation of patient care scenarios, lectures, and formal presentations. Applicants must be competitive high school juniors, seniors, college freshmen, or sophomores.

Mount Sinai's School of Medicine: Emergency Room Research Training Program 
The 2012 Summer Research Training Program (SRTP) is a year-round research training position. Each student will be matched with a faculty mentor and involved in a research project, workshops and didactic sessions all discussing the various dimensions of emergency medicine research. Participants are also welcomed to attend faculty forums and conferences. This opportunity is open to undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, medical, and graduate students.
