For the last 8 years, Dr. Halperin has employed approximately 4 NYU grads per year. The Medical Assistants are almost always NYU grads looking to go to Medical school and are looking for the opportunity to work in a Doctor's office and learn. Importantly, half of the Medical Assistant's time is spent with the Doctor, while he's consulting with patients and performing surgery. In addition to the extensive patient interaction, the Medical Assistants also have the opportunity to see how the office runs (scheduling appointments, working with insurance companies). Dr. Halperin is a graduate of NYU Medical School, did his residency at New York Presbyterian Medical Center and is now Clinical Associate Professor in Dermatology at Cornell Medical College. Every year the posting has been put on the NYU List Serve with tremendous success (receive approx 100 resumes).
The Job Posting is for a Full Time Medical Assistant for Dr. Halperin's Dermatology office in Manhattan. Dr. Peter Halperin's office is centrally located in Manhattan at 115 East 61st (between Lexington and Park). The position is available June/July 2011. The position is paid (starts at $11/hr and increases throughout the year based on performance).
