DEA announces the 2012 Dental School Virtual Fair for prospective students interested in a dental career.  The event will take place for two days this summer in June, and offers an online networking experience.  It’s already buzzing at colleges across the country.  This is a great opportunity for students looking to network and connect with dental schools. Whether you want to apply to dental school this year or in three years, the virtual fair will offer great information and advice from top dental school professionals.

2012 ADEA Dental School Virtual Fair

The American Dental Education Association is pleased to announce the 2012 ADEA Dental School Virtual Fair.  This online recruitment fair will bring approximately 50 dental school representatives to one online location for two live days.  On June 26th and 27th, attendees to the fair can chat one-on-one with dental school admissions officers, network with other pre-dental students, and listen to presentations on dental school admissions and student life.

This event is FREE to all attendees.

STEM careers — those that focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics — require special skills, and many of the workers in these fields are highly skilled in their areas.
In the new edition of his book “150 Best Jobs for Your Skills,” Laurence Shatkin, Ph.D., says that STEM careers include “work that discovers, collects and analyzes information about the natural world; applies scientific research findings to problems in medicine, the life sciences, human behavior and the natural sciences; imagines and manipulates quantitative data; and applies technology to manufacturing, transportation and other economic activities.”

Student National Dental Association's Spring Impressions Program at Columbia University

I would like to extend an invitation for this year’s Student National Dental Association’s (SNDA) Spring Impressions Program to be held at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Enjoy an interactive day with an admissions committee member and a panel of dental students. Make sure you’re on the right path that will lead you towards a career in dentistry. 

Participants will be given the opportunity to use dental instruments and materials in a lab setting. This opportunity will allow you to gain insight into the hands-on work available in the field of dentistry.  Go home with a stone cast that you poured during the impressions program. 

This year, the program will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Columbia University Medical Center from the hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm. Please find the attached flyer with details of the event and room location.  To ensure a seat during this event, you must fill out the registration form by clicking on the link below:

Exploring Health Careers

A Student Perspective Series

The Preprofessional Advising Center invites all undergraduate pre-health students to an event designed for you to hear from current students and recent graduates of professional programs in a variety of health-related disciplines. We understand that some of the most trusted advice is peer-to-peer, and we are excited to present this element to you!

Speakers will talk about their educational background, the application process for their professional program, and current educational experience. Q&A to follow!

NYU Impression Program

The program this year is intended for underrepresented college freshman and sophomores who have an interest in health sciences and would like to know more about dentistry as a profession. Participants will have the opportunity to meet current students, guest speakers and the admissions director. There will also be hands on activities, where students will learn how to take impressions and make stone models of teeth

Columbia University SNDA Fall Impressions Program

This year, the program will be held on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 at the Columbia University Alumni Auditorium (650 West 168th Street) of Columbia University Medical Center, from the hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm. To ensure a seat during this event, you must register on the below Google Spreadsheet:
